Love this, Jason. I've fallen prey too many times to the marketing of which you speak. I'm finally learning to use the 'time for money' opportunities I have available to fund some projects to eventually create passive income. I've 'started' too many things and not 'finished' them when life circumstances interfered or something else promising presented itself. I put myself in a situation where the only solution I can see is to figure out where to cut my losses (time and money spent) and where to focus my attention (follow through!). I find this incredibly hard to do (especially taking the financial hit), but reading your article today reinforces in my mind the necessity of doing just that. Thanks for that.
